Work Hard, Achieve, Dream Big

In today's schools, more and more kids are suffering from anxiety and depression. It's not always due to the parents or being pushed by the parents, but the busy world we live in thrives on such a competitive environment. Students feel that they must achieve at the top of their class in order to be successful. College tuition is at it's highest and student loans are as well. The generation we live in pushes to be debt free but the debt keeps building up. We are living in a false economy and our children are paying for it. Our lives are paying for it. Our family time, our down time is non-existent because we must work hard, achieve, dream big and our children are trying their best to follow in our footsteps but due to privilege they struggle because they don't understand or have the same drive, they just know that the competition is there and the struggle is real.
Gone are the days of being successful with a high school diploma, now the bachelor's degree is the high school diploma and your graduate degree is just a stepping stone. Just jump on out there into the terminal degree because that is the only way you will get a good job.

We live in a busy busy economy and work force. The rat race is just a tip of the ice burg. If you are working 24/7 someone else will get ahead of you, peer pressure is real and by all means do not look stupid or un -prepared in front of your co workers or peers.

All this work, all this striving creates a habit of busyness, a workaholic lifestyle in a sense. If you're not careful it will not pay off because you do not rest your mind in order for all that information to sink in and become useful to you.

So this is the reality, we must stop and re group. Breathe, take a break or our quality of life will continue to dwindle, our homes will continue to break. We must love and care for those around us or just like any relationship that isn't tended - it will not thrive. It is vital to find that balance between work and life in order to truly be successful. I cannot quote the study, but research shows that life is more about experiences than the materials you possess.

Take a minute, give a hug, get a hug and live in the moment. Because this life is fleeting and gone before you know it.
