We always ask why....

The serpent told Eve, Do you want to be like God and have all the knowledge that he has”?
“ Then eat of the tree of life” Gen  3:1-4

For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. Gen 3:5

I was reading an article about abuse and how terrible it is and how does God let it happen. While I was reading it, I was thinking of this scripture and how God does not allow it. We do it. Just like we ate of the tree in the Garden when we were not suppose to. He gave us free will and because of sin and free will,  people do bad things. Bad things happen to good people.

When Eve and Adam partook of the fruit from the tree of Life, like the serpent said “ you will not die, but you will be like God knowing good and evil”…. and there you have it.  We were made in God’s image with rule over all the earth and because of the very first sin in the Garden of Eden we suffer, people suffer and it isn’t because God, it’s because of man, you, me, mankind !

We are not gods, we are not God, but because we ate of the fruit we are like gods, we are the captain of our ships, we have free will and choice and good versus evil at our own fingertips. We have the power to shape children, or hurt them.  We have the power to hurt ourselves, to hurt others, we have an abundance of free will, not because God wants all this bad, but because WE TOOK IT !! We could not submit to him in the garden and follow one simple rule, do not eat of that tree…..

We could not submit then and we as a people group cannot submit now to God.

If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2Chr 7:14

It’s hard to submit.
We like power, we like being in control, and doing whatever, whenever we want.

“People assault their ears with noise to drown the cry of their souls for help. All too often they choose to perpetuate their own misery rather than repent of their evil ways and accept the rulership of another who is great than themselves”~ Frances Daniels

So guess what~~ we have sadness, we have evil, we have sickness, we have bad things all around us because of that.

But I have been offered hope, a Father, a friend, a redeemer, a refuge, and I could go on and on, but he is here to offer the same to you if you can submit… if you can make the choice to choose him….. he has already chosen you….

But because of free will, sin and a history of unfortunate events…. we must choose to follow him.

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. 2 Peter 3:9
